No Fault Insurance Update
This update is brought to you from the Brain Injury Association of Michigan and the Michigan Brain Injury Providers Council, which are both leaders in the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault.
As stated in previous emails, CPAN's whip count (vote tally) has Rep. Lund falling far short of having the necessary votes to pass the bill. He continues to work on a sub, but has yet to share anything with CPAN or its stakeholders. We expect Rep. Lund and the industry will continue to have discussions but it's unclear as to when they will reach out to the other side.
We anticipate that HB 4936 will be up for a vote in the House sometime during last three weeks of session Nov. 29 - Dec. 15th, and likely towards the end of the session.
New Materials:
Get Ready to Pay Higher Insurance Premiums Authored by CPAN General Council, George Sinas. Although the insurance companies claim premiums will go down, HB 4936 will actually create a need for many Michigan citizens to buy more insurance and pay higher premiums.
In review and a look ahead, by Kevin McKinney. Click here for his summary and please share with family, friends and co-workers.

Explain how the passage of HB 4936 would result in traumatically injured people having grossly inadequate coverage for their care, rehabilitation and accommodations following an accident.
Great effort over the last week. We continue to be well positioned in the House at this time.
