Mar 22, 2012 - Mar 24, 2012: MSHA Annual Conference Apr 14, 2012: Stuttering Therapy: Concepts and Strategies for SuccessPresented by Nina Reeves, M.S., CCC-SLP, a board recognized specialist in fluency disorders and sponsored by National Stuttering Association. This course is designed to meet the needs of SLPs serving children who stutter by providing a broad-based approach to stuttering intervention in children. Participants will also be involved in discussions and role-plays related to skills and foundational knowledge, parent education and training, and speech handling techniques. Offered for 0.4 ASHA CEUs Apr 14, 2012: Family Fun DayA workshop sponsored by the National Stuttering Association for school-age kid/teens who stutter, their families and speech-language pathologists. Teens will meet other kids who stutter, engage in fun and self-affirming activities, learn about stuttering, find out how other kids handle their stuttering and meet adults who have learned to cope well with with their stuttering.
Parents and SLPs learn about the latest research in stuttering, learn how to foster positive speech behaviors and attitudes in your child, meet and share experiences with other parents and people who stutter, and find out how to work as a team.
